Welcome to the first Iron Shawna video of 2013!

Here’s a twist on tortilla chips in case you crave them and don’t have a bag on hand.  Bonus: you can flavor them any way you want, and eat them hot!

You can make these as a snack for your weekly poker game.  They are so easy to make that it’s not even close to gambling, though!


**Recipe:

fresh or frozen tortillas (your choice how many and what kind)
1 part oil (I used sesame, but you can use the kind you like/have on hand)
3 part lime juice
your favorite spice (if any), to taste
parchment paper/baking sheet liner

Heat oven to 350F.  Line baking pan with liner.  Rip tortillas into whatever size/shape you want.  Spray, brush or dunk oil/lime juice mix onto ripped tortilla pieces.  Bake for 7 minutes, turn tortilla pieces, add your favorite spice (if any), and bake for another 8 minutes.  Your timing may vary depending on your preference for crispness.

Serve hot or cold to taste.

The average tortilla contains small amounts of potassium, calcium, and iron.  Please check your labels carefully before you consume any foods!

Sesame oil is known for containing vitamin e.  Please check labels on your favorite oils before consuming.

Lime juice is best known for containing vitamin c.
