Today is an Iron Shawna jungle of updates for video and podcast!  Check them both out…please?  I know I’ve been delinquent in getting these out AND I think you’ll agree with me that they are well worth the wait.

Episode 2 of the Iron Shawna audio-only podcast is now live!
Thanks to Pam Huber of Seriously Yum for being my second guest.

Believe it or not, Pam and I met through a social community on a food tracking app about 5 years ago.  We had never before seen or heard each other before this podcast conversation, so this conversation was an extra treat for us.

Pam had previously posted on Seriously Yum about pantry staples for a friend, so it was an easy topic for us to discuss on Iron Shawna: when you have a well planned pantry, you can make just about anything on a moment’s notice!

I hope Pam and I get a chance to talk again in the future, because she was also interested in talking about easy finger foods.  She has already written a current Seriously Yum post (how many times can I write the words Seriously Yum? Seriously!) that was inspired by one of my Iron Shawna Tumblr Shares.  Pun intended: I see a fruitful future for Pam and me.

Our conversation was recorded in May, so Pam has already sent me the kampot pepper she promised.  Believe it or not, I also sent her the berbere I promised (although the spice I sent her was from a local merchant, the link above leads you to a web ordering source).  I also promised that I would list the ingredients of berbere in this post, so here goes: cumin, clove, cardamom, black peppercorn, allspice, fenugreek, coriander, dried red chili, ginger, turmeric, salt, paprika and cinnamon.  You’re welcome.

**Key Quote:
“Oh, man…I haven’t even been drinking today!”

Anyway, thank you for tuning in, and feel free to check out Pam’s Seriously Yum Etsy site if you appreciate clean designs on baby clothes!

Including guests in an Iron Shawna involves a non-conventional set up, as you can see here.

The latest video on the Iron Shawna YouTube channel shows you what happens when friends visit from Afghanistan. Maybe it’s just what happens to me. I don’t know. Regardless: enjoy!

There may or may not be Parts 2 and 3 to come (you’re welcome for not posting the full 21 minutes which was already abridged from hours of the original raw footage). Stay tuned.

Key quote:
“Alcohol is now a human being with describable personal responsibilities.”

**Food:
Hand made, egg-less whole wheat pasta!
Arugula Pesto!
Local Organic Cranberries!
Blank Slate: Honey Cheese!
Buttermilk! (don’t worry, it’ll be featured later: stay tuned!)

**Drink:
Vodka!
Blueberry Lemonade!
Local Organic Cranberry Juice!

It’s all good.
